Apple iPhone 4s

Posted by on Apr 13, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

imageAfter iPhone 4, the iPhone 4s is the most amazing release from Apple.  The iPhone 4s has such awesome features that can amaze its lovers. Like its precursor, the iPhone 4s has lovely design and improved features. When iPhone 4 was released, people were attracted towards it because of its unique and fabulous design than the whole iPhone series. On the same lines, the iPhone 4s is crafted. The chassis and body shape is almost the same but the iPhone 4s is a little heftier (140 grams) than iPhone 4 (137 grams). Dimensions and compactness of both the phones are also same.

The most amazing and attractive things about iPhone 4s are its software and hardware configurations. Let us first discuss about its software. The iPhone 4s contains “Siri.” You might be wondering about the word “Siri”? It is software that has indeed increased the value of iOS 5 operating system and iPhone 4s. For Siri, your voice is a command. Just speak and give your iPhone 4s an order to make a call, open a particular application, send the message, save the contact, schedule the meeting etc. Don’t think Siri as an ordinary voice command application, as in ordinary phones. It is something more than that. Talk to Siri as you would to a person. For example, “Remind me to pick up my wallet, before I leave for the meeting.” Siri will intelligently find the information that you need and give you the answer. Siri not only understands what you are saying. But it also understands what you mean and what you want. It is a very intelligent application of iPhone 4s that makes you feel that you are having a conversation with one of your friends.

The iPhone 4s contains the most advanced operating system, the iOS 5. It is a fact that the love of people with iPhone is due to its impressive features. And all the features of any machinery are embedded in its operating system. So, iOS is indeed the necessary cause of iPhone’s uniqueness and popularity. The new iOS 5 gives an elegant an instinctive user-interface, multi-touch feature with capacitive display, compatibility to more than 500,000 apps on iPhone app store and it is having more than 200 new features. The display of iPhone 4s is protected by scratch resistant glass with oleophobic coating. iPhone 4s contains iCloud. It is an application that can manage your contacts, photos, music, documents, videos and much more stuff. The iCloud has more versatility than “People Hub” being used HTC smartphoens.

Now, something about the hardware. The iPhone 4s is powered by the most powerful processor in the iPhone series i-e dual Core A-5 processor. Apple iPad 2 has the same processor. iPhone 4 has a simple 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor. The A-5 has made iPhone 4s very speedy. You just need to tap a specific application and phone opens it in a real time. Also the multi-tasking is very good. You can play game and listen to the music at the same time. This new processor is power-saver and it gives iPhone 4s an excellent timing.

The iPhone 4s has 8 MP camera which is far better than the 5 MP camera of iPhone 4. The camera is provided with LED flash and touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection and HDR features. The camera gives excellent photo shoot and 1080p HD video recording. The camera does not care about whether you capture photo in low or high light and it also does not care about the motion of the thing to be captured and the number of people. It captures the world as it should be captured. The iPhone 4s has a secondary VGA camera. It also gives a good picture quality and helps you a lot in video calling or video conferencing.

The iPhone 4s does not contain any memory card slot but it has internal memory storage of 16 to 64 GB and 512 MB RAM. These two things are exactly in accordance with the iPhone 4.

Two other extraordinary features of iPhone 4s are Airplay and Airprint. With Airplay, you can connet your iPhone 4s wirelessly with your HDTV and speakers via Apple TV. You play the game on your iPhone 4s and what you are seeing in the phone screen is appearing on the big screen of TV. With Airprint, you can connect your iPhone 4s wirelessly with any printer and print your e-mails, photos, documents etc.

These were the few things that can easily differentiate iPhone 4s from other phones of its series and actually these are things that make iPhone unique and interesting.

Nokia’s Last Stand – Nokia WP7 Phones

Posted by on Apr 11, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

imageWP7 is the savior of the choked and outdated Nokia Symbian system. Here is how Microsoft tends to get Nokia for benefits on both sides.

Nokia is sinking floe in the summer sun. Sometime back it was already exhausting market share from Android which has exceeded even Apple, and faith in its Ssymbian^3 system. With Android eating away Nokia shares in Europe and Nokia blundering in China it is only a matter of time before the flow either sticks to a bigger iceberg or melts. Hence Microsoft is the pillar of support here for Nokia to lean on. Both parties can benefit greatly from this method with Microsoft gaining shares and Nokia polishing up its OS, reviving its once attractive UI and services. This all becomes even more possible for Nokia as it enters a greener pasture called WP7 recently a “Mango” update to WP7.

Moreover Microsoft’s would bestow upon Nokia developer software and moreover strengthen each other for the previously two-horse race of Android and Apple.

What makes Nokia-WP7 phones appealing are their low price ranges, originality of OS with good support for music, office and personalization. Moreover Microsoft has seen to it to start equipping carriers with their devices and that move is appreciated by quite a number of customers who are waiting for the end of their contracts and getting subsidized WP7 phones instead for a variety of reasons.

Mobile Phones Being Used During Heart Surgery

Posted by on Apr 4, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

imagePossibly a place where mobile phones might be thought to be banned, turns out to be a hotbed of phone use – the hospital operating theatre.

A survey of the professionals who operates the heart-lung machine during cardiac surgery found that over half (55.6%) of perfusionists use of a cell phone during the performance of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB).

Sending text messages while performing CPB was acknowledged by 49.2%, with clear generational differences detected when cross-referenced with age groups. For smart phone features, perfusionists report having accessed e-mail (21%), used the internet (15.1%), or have checked/posted on social networking sites (3.1%) while performing heart surgery.

Despite this, safety concerns were expressed by 78.3% who believe that cell phones can introduce a potentially significant safety risk to patients.

Speaking on a cell phone and text messaging during CPB are regarded as "always an unsafe practice" by 42.3% and 51.7% of respondents, respectively. Personal distraction by cell phone use that negatively affected performance was admitted by 7.3%, whereas witnessing another perfusionist distracted with phone/text while on CPB was acknowledged by 33.7% of respondents.

This survey suggests that the majority of perfusionists believe cell phones raise significant safety issues while operating the heart-lung machine. However, the majority also have used a cell phone while performing this activity. There are clear generational differences in opinions on the role and/or appropriateness of cell phones during bypass. There is a need to further study this issue and, perhaps, to establish consensus on the use of various communication modes within the perfusion community.

Methodology

In October 2010, a link to a 19-question survey (surveymonkey.com) was posted on the AmSECT (PerfList) and Perfusion.com (PerfMail) forums. There were 439 respondents. Demographic distribution is as follows; Chief Perfusionist (30.5%), Staff Perfusionist (62.0%), and Other (7.5%), with age ranges of 20-30 years (14.2%), 30-40 years (26.5%), 40-50 years (26.7%), 50-60 years (26.7%), >60 years (5.9%).

The results of the survey were presented at the 32nd Annual Seminar of The American Academy of Cardiovascular Perfusion, Reno, Nevada, 27-30, January, 2011.

Mobile App Use Growing Faster Than Mobile Browser Traffic

Posted by on Apr 2, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

imageNearly 42 percent of all U.S. mobile subscribers now use smartphones, along with 44 percent of mobile users across the EU5 (comprised of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK). Mobile media use — defined as browsing the mobile web, accessing applications, or downloading content — saw increased growth as a result, surpassing the 50-percent threshold in many markets, supported by the proliferation of high-speed networks and increased public Wi-Fi availability.

The figures were released by comScore in an annual state of the market report.

The report highlights insights primarily from mobile markets in the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, Japan, and Canada.

"2011 proved to be a groundbreaking year for the mobile industry, with smartphones hitting the mainstream, tablets emerging as a formidable fourth screen, and consumers increasingly integrating mobile behaviors into their lifestyles. As the industry continues to innovate and more consumers look to multiple devices and platforms to consume digital media, we expect the mobile and connected device landscape to be shaken up even further in 2012," said Mark Donovan, comScore Senior Vice President of Mobile.

The Google Android and Apple iOS smartphone platforms emerged as the leaders of the U.S. smartphone market in 2011, with Android just a few points shy of capturing half of the smartphone market and iOS accounting for nearly 30 percent of the market. In the EU5, Android saw similarly significant gains, unseating market leader Symbian in 3 out of the 5 European markets measured.

In 2011, both the U.S. and EU5 saw the growth in mobile app use exceed the growth in mobile browser use, leading to both markets seeing the same percentage of their mobile audience use both apps and browsers to access mobile media. Health ranked as the fastest-growing mobile media category in the U.S. in 2011, followed by Retail and other commerce-related categories such as Electronic Payments and Auction Sites.

Mobile Retail Information Leads to Emergence of Smartphone Shopping Behaviors
More than half of the U.S. smartphone population used their phone to perform retail research while inside a store in 2011, illustrating the emergence of savvy smartphone shoppers who bring online shopping behaviors in-store — a trend seen in other markets as well. At the end of 2011, nearly 1 in 5 smartphone users scanned product barcodes and nearly 1 in 8 compared prices on their phone while in a store.

A total of 64.2 million U.S. smartphone users and 48.4 million EU5 smartphone users accessed social networking sites or blogs on their mobile devices at least once in December 2011, with more than half of these mobile social networking users accessing social media almost every day. While mobile social networking users showed the highest propensity to read posts from people they knew personally, more than half of those in the U.S. and nearly half in the EU5 also reported reading posts from brands, organizations, and events.

Tablets quickly rose in popularity in 2011, taking less than two years to account for nearly 40 million tablets in use among U.S. mobile users and outpacing smartphones which took 7 years to reach the same. By the end of 2011, nearly 15 percent of U.S. mobile users also had tablets — a trend seen across other markets as well.

Samsung will launch 9 smartphones and 2 tablets

Posted by on Mar 8, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

imageBeyond his booming dispute with Apple in recent months, if something can not be criticized for Samsung is the huge number of phones available in its catalog. Starting at the low end up to the premium smartphones, the Asian company has a wide variety of terminals. It is therefore not surprising that soon should be able to produce nine models, and a tablet in two versions .
Predict the coming months very moved to Samsung. As has been demonstrated through the information leaked in recent days, the South Korean firm intends to renew several versions of its smart phones.

Among these changes highlights the weight of Android, with seven new prototypes, although there will also be a gap to two tablets Bada novel 2.0. Finally, the Asian launch, according to the roadmap, two more tablets. Although in both cases try the same pattern, only differentiated by connectivity (WiFi and WiFi + 3G) . Among the seven new Android Samsung plans to address in the coming months, the first of all and the most spectacular will be the model I9250. For now known to debut with a monstrous Super AMOLED screen, apparently with the tagline Plus of no less than 4.65 inches . Also give a considerable leap in quality when switching to high definition, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. As for the multimedia part outlines a five-megapixel camera. And this smartphone could be even one of the first to release the next version of Android, called Ice Cream Sandwich .

For their part, note that Samsung also will continue to pursue Bada, its own operating system, although two new devices are expected in the coming weeks will have the expected version 2.0 and the changes that brings. On the hardware side, we must first locate the Samsung S5380, which will have a 3.2 inch screen, Bluetooth 3.0 and a two megapixel camera, among other specifications as yet unknown.

Although this model over the Samsung S8600 will be placed, which will debut as Samsung Wave III. Among its technical features include a Super AMOLED screen four-inch, five-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0 and three gigabytes of internal memory.
With regard to future tablets, highlights the release of the Samsung P6200 with a seven-inch screen, but this time enjoy the Super AMOLED technology with 1024 x 600 pixels. But as if this were not enough, also is said to have a three-megapixel main camera and a two-megapixel front. Which?’s 2012 mobile phone predictions

Posted by on Mar 1, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

imageWe look forward to what is bound to be another packed year for mobile phones and make a few stabs in the dark educated guesses about what we are likely to see in 2012.

With 2011 seeing smartphone ownership pass the 50% mark in the UK and some big releases in the shape of the iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nokia Lumia 800 – 2012 has a lot to live up to.
Still no 4G

We’ve waited and waited and we’re going to have to wait some more. While every other country upgrades their mobile networks to the latest technology we are stuck in the doldrums of 3G and we still can’t even see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Ofcom has already delayed the auction of the spectrum to be used for 4G until the end of 2012 thanks to veiled legal threats and challenges from the operators. This means, even without further delays, there is no chance of seeing the technology put in place before 2013.
More lawsuits

In the past two years it has felt like the mobile manufacturers have put more time and money into suing each other than developing new products – and as tiresome as this has become don’t expect it to end any time soon.

Google has even gone as far as to buy Motorola to help protect itself from the legal challenges of Apple, while the fight between now sworn enemies Apple and Samsung continues to intensify.

Despite everyone – aside from the patent attorneys – wanting the mobile phone makers to go back to making mobile phones, expect 2012′s headlines to be dominated by more courtroom battles over the tiniest details of each operating system.
Android dominates and better apps appear
Android Ice Cream Sandwich

Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest version of Android

The monstrous growth in devices running Android shows no sign of slowly down with 3.7m Android devices being activated over Christmas and we expect this to continue even in the face of legal challenges.

With so many more devices out there we may also see more developers and companies start to take the platform seriously and as a result we expect to see less iOS only apps and more companies embrace Android. We even might see someone come up with a good use of augmented reality – although we wouldn’t hold our breath.

However, this also means we are likely to see more poor quality apps so Google will have to come up with a better way of helping users sift through the chaff.
BlackBerry struggles

With Android continuing to win new customers there are always going to be losers and after a difficult 2011 things aren’t looking good for BlackBerry manufacturer RIM.

While it still has a strong user base, particularly among teenagers, the network problems of 2011 and a failure to keep pace with more ‘modern’ operating systems could see it lose a lot of customers in 2012.

We have been impressed with the most recent devices with the Torch 9810 getting a Best Buy, but is it too little too late?
Nokia improves on the Lumia 800 (or gets bought by Microsoft)
Nokia Lumia 800

The Lumia 800 disappointed in our lab tests

We had high hopes for the first Nokia and Microsoft tie-in and were disappointed when it didn’t match expectations in our lab tests. But, with a software update to improve battery life due in the new year we hope it can up its performance while Nokia has the time to put together a better device.

New software updates for Windows Phone will bring new features such as dual-core processor support and the ability to use higher resolution displays – while Nokia is able to iron out any software integration issues.

However, if the former-Finish-phone giant can’t stop the rot and its share price continues to slide, we may see Microsoft put more money on the table and try to buy the manufacturer.
NFC goes mainstream

While 2011 saw the launch of the first NFC payment enabled phones in the UK, we didn’t quite see the explosion some (including us) expected. But with almost all the top-end smartphones (except the iPhone 4S) launched towards the end of the year featuring NFC as standard we expect this to change (again).

Google has been trialling it’s Google Wallet service in the States plus, if Apple deigns to stick NFC in the iPhone 5 (see below), it could easily link a payment system to the credit cards attached to users’ iTunes accounts – and where Apple goes all must follow.
iPhone 5 to launch

After the disappointment of only getting an iPhone 4S to play with the Apple fanboys will hardly be able to contain their excitement over the inevitable iPhone 5.

All the old rumours of a redesign and a bigger screen are being recycled and Apple is surely already busy designing the posters to make it clear that this ‘changes everything again’ again.

Whether it will launch in the summer like the first iPhones or the autumn like the 4S is anybody’s guess, but what is certain is it will launch and will be one of the biggest launches of the year.

Siri Doubles iPhone Data Volumes

Posted by on Feb 28, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

image Users of iPhone 4S have doubled the amount of data volumes. The voice recognition software Siri is said to be the main culprit. This increase in the use of data placed greater pressure on operators. Apple installed Siri, which was marketed as a virtual personal assistant, in the latest iPhone handset in October. Through voice commands, the app helps users write text messages, schedule appointments, and check the local weather.

This phenomenon is felt around the world. In Europe, more than 1 million subscribers of a single European network use Siri. Verizon Wireless in the United States said that the number of iPhones sold doubled to 4.2 million in the last quarter of 2011. AT&T has been criticized for dropped calls in high-use areas, such as San Francisco and New York.

The iPhone 4S is Apple’s first major release after Steve Jobs’ death. iPhone remains to be the world’s most popular smartphone but Google’s Android platform is now the most used operating system. It’s found in devices made by HTC Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co.

Operators tried to limit the data for heavy users as subscribers access high-definition video and images, as well as surf the internet and play music on their smartphones. Vodafone, which is one of the world’s largest mobile operator, shifted to consumption-based billing in order to protect its network bandwidth capacity.

Verizon iPhone 4 number two in sales against the HTC

Posted by on Feb 20, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

imageIt appears that after two weeks of sales the HTC Thunderbolt smartphone may be coming out ahead of the Verizon iPhone 4 in some locations. The HTC Thunderbolt launched in the middle of March on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. In a survey of 150 Verizon Wireless stores in 22 U.S. cities, the Android-based HTC phone, the two phones were either neck and neck, or the HTC came out slightly ahead of the iPhone 4.

When the stores were contacted 61 percent of them said they sold equal amounts of the two smart phones, 11 percent said they sold more iPhones, and 28 percent said they sold more HTC phones.

There wasn’t any data from hard sales numbers on the two phones, so there wasn’t a firm way of confirming that the Android based HTC is outselling the iPhone 4, but it would appear that the HTC is indeed doing well against the iPhone.

The HTC sells for $250 with a two year Verizon contract.

Suitable Mobile Phone

Posted by on Feb 15, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

imageOne of the biggest fads nowadays is sporting a state-of-the-art mobile phone, preferably one with a touch screen and 3G-connectivity. But what many people fail to consider in this rat race of owning the latest Smartphone is whether they actually need so many features or not? Today’s high-end smart phones are equipped with so many capabilities that the average user does not even utilize half of them properly. So they end up paying for many features that they are never going to use.

The best example is that of camera mobile phones. Most of the mobile phones come equipped with a camera so users can take pictures on the go whenever they find a moment worth preserving. However, I always have a digital camera with me wherever I go so I can capture all the fun moments with my friends and family in high definition. So I would buy a mobile phone with an average camera resolution because the phone camera will be used very seldom.

There are also music phones available by companies like Nokia and Sony Ericsson for people so they can have no need of carrying their mp3 players with them anymore. With their extended memory and superior audio experience, these phones are ideal for people who listen to music while jogging, riding on the bus and whenever they have time. But buying a music phone is impractical if you only listen to music once in a while. You just end up paying extra for memory and audio speakers that you are never going to use.

Samsung ups its game with Galaxy Tab 7.7

Before the year 2010, there was apparently no concept of tablet computer but Apple took everyone with surprise by unveiling its iPad.  Within some time other manufacturers followed by launching their tablet PCs. The basic reason was that the people take iPad as the new mean of computing and started replacing their personal computers with iPad. Samsung was the first one after Apple to bring their tablet PC in the market in form of Galaxy Tab. However, Samsung’s 7 inch Tablet was not a true competitor of Apple’s iPad because of some reasons. First, it had 7 inch screen which make it smaller for Tablets. Secondly, the main reason was that its Operating System was not enough to compete Apple’s OS. At that time Honeycomb was in the completion process, so the Glaxay Tab used Froyo which is not as advanced as its competitors.

Now we are in almost the end of 2011 and we can easily see the shelves being filled by Tablets other than of Apple’s iPads. Main reason behind this is the Android’s Honeycomb, which can be called the real competitor of iPad. Among the new additions, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab line is in front of others, which includes 8.9, 10.1 and the most recent 7.7. Galaxy Tab 7.7 is now available in the markets.

Samsung has amazed the whole world by the launch of this Tab as it has whole new look with a lot of improved features. All previous models of Samsung were of plastic but this Galaxy Tab 7.7 is first time made up of pure stylish metal back cover. As its name suggests, it has 7.7-inch display with a super AMOLED plus panel. It has dual-core 1.4 GHz processor and runs on Android OS 3.2 (Honeycomb). It has 16 to 64 GB of internal storage and promising theoretical download speed of 21 Mbps. In nutshell, it can be stated that it is the Tablet we all were yearning for. Now Apple has to do a lot better in order to compete Samsung.

Nokia’s joint venture with Siemens, Nokia Siemens Networks produces telecommunications network equipment, solutions and services.[4] Nokia is also engaged in providing free digital map information and navigation services through its wholly owned subsidiary Navteq.

Nokia has sites for research and development, manufacture and sales in several countries; as of December 2010, Nokia had R&D presence in 16 countries and employed 35,870 people in research and development, representing approximately 27% of the group’s total workforce.[1] The Nokia Research Center, founded in 1986, is Nokia’s industrial research unit consisting of about 500 researchers, engineers and scientists;[6][7] it has sites in seven countries: Finland, China, India, Kenya, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.[8] Besides its research centers, in 2001 Nokia founded (and owns) INdT – Nokia Institute of Technology, a R&D institute located in Brazil.[9] Nokia operates a total of 9 manufacturing facilities[10] located at Salo, Finland; Manaus, Brazil; Cluj, Romania; Beijing and Dongguan, China; Komárom, Hungary; Chennai, India; Reynosa, Mexico; and Masan, South Korea.[11][12] Nokia’s industrial design department is headquartered in Soho in London, UK with significant satellite offices in Helsinki, Finland and Calabasas, California in the US.

In 2004 Nokia’s share of the Finnish GDP was 3.5% and accounted for almost a quarter of Finland’s exports in 2003.

Finns have consistently ranked Nokia as one of the best Finnish brands. In 2008, it was the 27th most respected brand among Finns, down from the sixth place in 2007.[16] The Nokia brand, valued at $29.5 billion, is listed as the eighth most valuable global brand in the Interbrand/BusinessWeek Best Global Brands list of 2010 (first non-US company).[17][18] It is the number one brand in Asia (as of 2007)[19] and Europe (as of 2009),[20] the 41st most admirable company worldwide in Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies list of 2010 (third in Network and Other Communications Equipment, seventh non-US company),[21] and the world’s 120th largest company as measured by revenue in Fortune Global 500 list of 2010.[22] As of 2010, AMR Research ranks Nokia’s global supply chain No. 19 in the world.[23] In July 2010, Nokia reported a drop in profits by 40%,[24] which turned into an operating loss of EUR 487 million in Q2 2011.[25] In the global smartphone rivalry,[26] Nokia held the 3rd place in 2Q2011, trailing behind Samsung and Apple.

On 11 February 2011, Nokia announced a partnership with Microsoft which will mean most future Nokia smartphones will be powered by the Windows Phone 7 operating system.

The Nokia House, Nokia’s head office located by the Gulf of Finland in Keilaniemi, Espoo, was constructed between 1995 and 1997. It is the workplace of more than 1,000 Nokia employees.[29]

The first Nokia mobile phone using the Microsoft Windows platform will be introduced in 2011, but delivery bulk will be initialised at 2012.

Visit MobileToday for up-to-the-minute news, breaking news, features and interviews about the UK mobile phone industry. Mobiletoday

About Us

The phone sale and recycling process is provided by Eazyfone Limited, a company registered in England: company number 04155766; registered office: Guildford House, Heather Close, Lyme Green Business Park, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 0LR; VAT number: 703409857. We use the trade names “envirofone” and “envirofone.com”.
3.

Who Can Send Phones To Us

The website is aimed at people interested in selling or recycling a phone. We buy phones from customers in the UK (which our postage costs account for) and limited other countries. The information on this website and all communications will be in English. This website and the Terms are designed to comply with English law. You may be viewing the website in a country in which we do not operate and trade and we cannot be responsible for non-compliance with any local advertising or other laws in relation to this website or its contents.
If you are under 18, only send in your phone in accordance with these Terms with the permission of your parent or legal guardian. All users must use their own identity at all times and ensure that all information provided is accurate and up to date. You must not under any circumstances, send a phone which you do not own, even if owned by a family or household member. By sending a phone, you confirm that you own it. We may refuse to trade phones with any person.
4.

How The Contract Is Formed And The Recycling Process

During the online process, you will be asked to agree to these Terms. You must read them carefully as they form the agreement between us and you and you will be bound by them. If and when you agree to them, we will then send a confirmation that we have received your sales pack request. The agreement between us is formed when we send that confirmation to you. Any terms or conditions referred to in a sales order by you, anywhere or at any time, have no effect. Any variation to these Terms must be confirmed in writing by us. If you do not agree to our Terms, we are unable to progress your trade.
You may include any number of phones in a sales order, subject to restriction in these Terms and as we may stipulate from time to time. Each sales order is a separate contract. A full explanation about how to place an order is in the FAQ section of our website.
We work to reduce the phones sent to landfill. As phones and batteries contain dangerous metals, including lead, cadmium, lithium and mercury, recycling helps protect the environment. However, whether phones can be reused is determined by us.
5.

Conditions Relating To The Sale Of Your Mobile Phone To Us

We may refuse to process a sale if we think it is reasonable to do so. This may include (but is not limited to) where: we identify a valuation error on the website; or you fail to meet any criteria for eligibility which we impose from time to time; or you fail to submit all necessary and relevant details for us to complete the sales process; or fail to send us your mobile phone; or where your phone is damaged or does not comply with the Terms; or it is an imitation, copy or otherwise a non-genuine make or model.
To receive the full indicative value for your phone, it must power-up (turn on) and be in full working condition (meaning that all features must be in good working order) and must not have significant damage (although may have some mild cosmetic damage i.e. general minor wear and tear). By way of example only, damage classed as significant includes broken or cracked LCD screens; camera function not working or camera damage; buttons missing from the phone or other keypad damage; deep scratches or dents; snapped hinges; charger port not working; microphone damage; earpiece damage; or software which is faulty or defective. Phones must have batteries enclosed within the phone casing; not be barred; PIN locked or water damaged; appear in our online guide; be of UK or GSM European specification; and not be lost or stolen. The list is not exhaustive. When we inspect or test your phone, we will not pay as much as the original, indicative value if we find that your phone does not comply with all these conditions.
Phones not listed on our website will be automatically recycled where possible, subject to these Terms. Such phones cannot be returned under any circumstances. Please ensure you are happy to send such phones to us for recycling only. You will not receive any payment for such phones. We accept the return of phone boxes, battery chargers and phone accessories but they do not increase phone value and will not be returned if requested.
Do not include more than four phones in one envelope (or fewer if you send phone accessories). If sending more than four phones or accessories, we recommend using more than one padded envelope. Please use a padded envelope and the label in your sales pack or you can request an additional sales pack by going to the My Account section.
Please note that if the indicative online valuation for your sales pack order is £5 or under, we will not send a sales pack. Instead, print and use the label from the website or simply write the address on the front of your envelope and follow the online instructions.
6.

Wrong Models And Testing

Each phone is tested for compliance with our Terms. We also check that the phone is not red flagged (see Section 9 below) according to CheckMEND details. Tests are carried out prior to and are the conditions for, payment. We may stipulate additional tests as we reasonably determine. As phones can look similar, customers sometimes incorrectly identify them. If we find that the model you send is not as referred to in your sales order, we will e-mail a value for the actual phone, confirming the model. You can choose to continue the sale for the revised value or reject it. If so, we will return the phone, the sale will not progress and our agreement will terminate. To accept or reject a revised value, log on to your account where you will be given the revised value and be asked to either proceed or reject the revised value. If you do not respond within 3 (three) days, starting on the day on which we e-mail the revised value, we will automatically process your sale after that time, using the new price. We will send an SMS text reminder on the second day to the mobile number which you provided during registration, in order to remind you again. If you have queries about how models are identified, contact customer services (details below).
7.

Damaged Mobile Phones

Where possible, we offer value for a damaged phone but shall not be obliged to do so nor purchase any damaged phone. Damaged phones will be traded using the same process as for all other phones. If we determine your phone is damaged, we may, at our discretion, pay for the damaged phone but the value will be less than indicated on our website and will not in any event, be more than 85% (or for iPhones up to 90%) of the original indicated value. Accordingly, if a phone which we receive is damaged, then we will value the phone to take account of the damage and send a revised value by email. In some cases, values will be zero if phones are beyond economical repair or have multiple faults (e.g. water damage and cracked LCD screen). A revised value will only be given once the phone has been tested or inspected.
You can decide whether to continue with the revised value sale or whether to reject it in which case, we will send your phone back within 14 days, the sale will not continue and our agreement will terminate. To accept or reject a revised value, log on to your account where you will be given the revised value and asked to either proceed with the sale or reject the revised value. If you do not respond within 3 (three) days, starting on the day on which we e-mail the revised value, we will automatically process your phone sale after that time using the new price. We will send an SMS text reminder on the second day to the mobile number which you provided during registration, in order to remind you again.
Phones in pieces or parts or phones which have no value, will not be returned and we may recycle them.
8.

SIM Cards And Data Removal – Important:

The sale of your phone will not under any circumstance, include the sale of a SIM card or other proprietary information. It is a condition of you sending in and any sale of a phone that before sending it, you remove and retain SIM cards AND memory cards (or other media) AND all other personal details and data including without limit, all names, phone numbers, SMS messages, photos, games, songs, video and all other data from your phone. This means that you must remove your SIM card, memory cards and media and all personal data before sending your mobile phone. This is a fundamental provision in our agreement. If you do not comply with these obligations, you will be in breach.
We will not accept liability for any loss, damage or costs which you incur if the SIM card, memory card or other media are sent with the handset or if personal data remains on the phone including without limitation, any charges which you incur as a result of use of your phone by any person, whether incurred before or after our receipt of the handset. We will not be in any way responsible for the security, confidentiality, protection, use or disclosure of any personal data which you fail to remove or any losses or costs which arise as a result. If you send a SIM card, memory card or personal details in error or in breach of this section, we will not under any circumstances be able to return them to you and shall have no responsibility in respect of them. If you send personal data to us in error, (other than information we hold about you as a customer) we shall not be deemed to be holding, processing or otherwise using the data on your behalf in any way. Without any liability on our part, we advise you to ensure that you understand and comply with any obligations which you may have in accordance with your agreement with your telecoms service provider including any obligations which you must comply with in disposing of your phone. If you do send your SIM card to us in breach of this section, it is your responsibility to inform your provider of your error and you will remain liable for any charges to your account both before and after sending your phone to us. This is subject to any terms of agreement you may have with your telecoms provider.
9.

Lost, Stolen Barred/Blocked “RED FLAGGED” Mobile Phones

We will check the status of al phones received against the National CheckMEND database (using the unique IMEI number). If your mobile phone is found to have a red flag by CheckMEND, it must be quarantined for 28 days whilst its status is reviewed. The phone will have a red flag if it has been registered as lost, stolen or barred/blocked on the CheckMEND database.
If you are advised that your phone has a red flag against it you will need to contact CheckMEND in order to review the status of your phone. You will be advised of the procedure required by email from us.
The purpose of the quarantine period is to allow the rightful owner the opportunity to have the red flag removed in order that the phone can be processed appropriately.
If, during the quarantine period the red flag is removed, your phone will be processed and paid for as normal and will not be returned. However, if after the quarantine period has expired and the red flag has not been removed then we are required by law to dispose of it and you will not receive any payment.
10.

Value And Payment

Phone values on our website are indicative only and we are not obliged to pay the initially quoted value if when we receive your phone, we determine that it has a lower value if it fails to meet these Terms. Values are valid for 14 days from the date on which you place a sales order except that values may vary from those initially given on our website, as provided in these Terms. If we receive your phone(s) after this 14 day period then the updated current price will apply. We will also send you an email reminder within this 14 day period. We may extend the period for which phone values are valid but shall not under any circumstances, be obliged to do so.
Under no circumstances will payment be dispatched before we receive your phone. Payment is in accordance with the method you select in the sales order process. The possible payment methods are cheque; BACS payment; via a PayPal Account or retail vouchers. Once you select a method for a particular sales order, you may choose any alternative payment option up until the process payment date. Once the payment has been processed it is no longer changeable.
Payment processing depends on third parties which we do not control. For payment by retail vouchers or cheque, this involves a postal service and for BACS and PayPal payments, a bank. We will not be liable for delay in your receipt of payment as a result of third party action or inaction or once we have issued payment. We aim to issue payment within 5 working days of the day on which your phone is tested and confirmed to meet our Terms where valuations do not change; or within 5 working days of the expiry of the five day period referred to above (see Wrong Models and Testing and Damaged Mobile Phones) where a phone value does change. Timescales are indicative only and we do not guarantee to meet them. We are advised by Royal Mail that customers should allow 2-3 working days for cheques or retail vouchers to arrive and by the banks that customers should allow 3-5 working days to receive payment.
The criteria used to value phones are based on numerous factors including changes in market value. We may change the way in which we value phones at any time and without notice. Phone values may change from day to day which means that if you check the value of your phone on any given day but do not place a sales order, you may be given a different value for the same phone at a later time. This does not affect any other provisions in these Terms. Any special offers on phone values are subject to particular terms which we may impose and may be varied or withdrawn at any time and without notice. Values are shown and payments are made in pounds sterling.
Each phone is processed separately even if included in a multiple phone sales order. We may send payment for each phone separately. Nothing shall oblige us to complete any transaction with you, make a payment or fulfill our obligation to you in accordance with these Terms if we become insolvent, enter into an arrangement with administrators or if anything similar occurs, in which case our agreement with you will end immediately.
Payments are also subject to validation and security checks which we or third parties may stipulate from time to time. Payments are non-transferable and will be made to the payee named as instructed in the sales order process. If you would like someone else to receive payment, you must ensure you have all the correct details and authorisation. Payments will be sent in the case of postal payments to the address you stipulate when you set up your account. Payments sent in the post will be sent via first class Royal Mail post. All valuations include VAT (or other applicable tax) at the prevailing rate. Payments are made using the details which you provide. You must ensure that you provide all correct, accurate details, including without limit, payment and account details. We will not be liable if you fail to receive a payment or suffer a loss (including if a payment is sent to an incorrect account) as a result of your failure to input all payment and other details correctly, completely and accurately.
11.

Contract Cancellations – Cooling Off Rights

In some cases, the law gives a right to cancel an agreement, at any time within 7 working days, beginning on the day after an agreement is formed or until services begin, whichever is sooner. This is a “cooling off period”. Once your sales order is placed online and we have sent your confirmation, you have seven working days following that date to cancel except that if we begin our services before that time, you agree that your cooling off right will end at that time. We begin to undertake activity and perform services to fulfill our agreement when we receive your phone. Therefore, we will not return your phone and you will not be able to cancel the agreement once we receive your phone except as provided in these Terms. By sending your phone, you agree that we may begin work immediately in order to deal with your phone sale, which this may affect cancellation rights and that once you send a phone to us, your cooling off rights will no longer apply and we will not be able to return your phone. We will however return your phone if, when we receive it, we find that it has a lesser value than originally stated such that we revise the value and you confirm that you do not wish to sell your phone. These rights are explained in the sections above. Other circumstances for cancellation are in accordance with these Terms.
To exercise your cooling off rights, please tell us in writing (including e-mail but not telephone) that you want to do so within the 7 day period as above. Our customer service details are set out at the end of these Terms. If you inform us that you no longer wish to send your phone, we will remove your sales order from our system so that we know you will not be sending your phone and so that you are removed from our reminder system. In those circumstances, you will not be entitled to any payment from us whatsoever and further, no payment to your chosen charity or carbon offset payment will be made.
12.

Sending Phones

We will send you a reminder by email if we have still not received your phone within 7 days of your sales pack order.
We will not be liable if the phone is subject to loss or damage before receipt at our warehouse. You send your phone at your own risk. We do not receive deliveries on weekends and bank holidays. We strongly recommend that all phones, regardless of value, are sent by Special Delivery (which will be at your own cost). Equally, if for any reason your phone is returned to you, you retain responsibility for risk in the phone and we shall not be responsible for any damage in transit. We strongly recommend that you pack the phone carefully to minimize risk of damage. The prepaid envelope does not guarantee that the phone will be received in the same condition as sent. If total orders valuations are over £100, we will provide a Special Delivery pack at our cost. The packs which we provide for order valuations at £100 or under (but over £5) are standard priority return packs. If your phone is lost in the post we will advise you how you might claim against the Royal Mail may but we cannot guarantee this to be successful. If we receive a damaged package, the package and phone (if we received it) will be returned to you so that you may claim for the loss directly from Royal Mail or courier if you wish. By sending the package back to you we do not guarantee that the claim will be successful and we cannot have any liability for any claims which are refused by external parties. For more information about making claims with Royal Mail, please visit www.royalmail.com. This information is provided for your information only.
If your mobile phone is valued under £5.00 on our website you will not be sent a physical sales packet in the post. You will still be able to print your Freepost label from our website and send your phone in to us using Royal Mail for Free. Please ensure you securely attach the label to your envelope. If you do not have a printer you will still be able to write the address on your envelope. Please ensure you copy your sale reference on to the envelope if you are hand writing your label as we will need to identify that the pack belongs to you.
If we return your phone, we use Royal Mail recorded post and at our cost. If Royal Mail cannot deliver the phone, we will ask them to return it to our Head Office and we will contact you by email to check your address. Once we receive confirmation that the address is correct we will resend the phone. If a phone is returned to us for a second time or if we have e-mailed you and we do not receive a response within 14 days, we will treat the phone as our property, retain it and process the sale and will send you payment at the lower, revised phone value.
We cannot accept responsibility for items which are damaged in transit via City Link couriers. All CityLink parcels are insured up to a value of £15,000 however, if the mobile phones are not sufficiently packed to mitigate potential damage in transit then the City Link insurance claim is null and void. If your mobile phone(s) is lost in transit we will endeavour to resolve any dispute with our partners but cannot guarantee this will be successful.
13.

Our Liability And Risk

Nothing in these Terms or elsewhere excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or any liability for fraudulent misrepresentation, fraud or liability which we are responsible for in relation to consumer protection rights or for any other matters which it would be illegal to exclude. Your statutory rights are not affected.
To the extent that we are liable to you in respect of breach of contract, for negligence or for any other legal liability in relation to our agreement with you or otherwise, our total liability to you will be limited to three times the value of the phone which is the subject of the liability, (as determined by us in accordance with our usual valuation procedures) and any losses which are foreseeable as a direct consequence of us breaking our agreement with you.
Except unless we explicitly state elsewhere, we shall not be responsible for any indirect or special losses which happen as a side effect or consequence of any main loss or damage or for anything which we or you could not reasonably anticipate. This includes but is not limited to the following, however they arise: direct loss of profit and indirect loss of profit; loss of income or revenue; loss of savings; loss of data; loss of use of money; losses which you incur as a result of a failure by you to comply with your obligations under these Terms, including without limitation, third party charges which are raised for your account as a result of a failure to adhere to your obligations regarding removal of SIM cards and other data. Ownership of the phone will pass to us when we issue payment to you but nothing will stop us from dealing with the phone in the course of business. Phones will remain at your risk until we have issued payment for the phone.
We cannot be responsible for any errors you make in entering any details during the online process.
14.

General

We will not be in any way responsible to you for a failure to purchase your phone or for failure to comply with our obligations under these Terms or for any costs or liabilities which you incur as a result of any circumstances beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to act of God, flood, fire, trade dispute, lack of third party materials or services or terrorism.
The agreement between us is binding. You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations to another person without our express agreement. Virgin History

Virgin has a rich and varied history which takes in airlines, records, bridalwear, holidays, vodka, cars, bank accounts, mobile phones, cosmetics, condoms, gyms… the list goes on. And there’s more to come – Virgin is stronger than ever.

Whenever you want to get to know someone or something better today, it can help to look back at what they were up to yesterday. So while Virgin has its sights set firmly on the future, we don’t mind an occasional glance back.

It’s been quite a ride with some fantastic ups and downs – do you remember when we took on Coke to launch Virgin Cola? Or when we stuck two fingers up at British Airways? Or even when we unleashed our rival to iTunes? It all started when Richard Branson co-founded what was to become one of the biggest best independent record labels in the world…

Some of it’s a bit hazy now (there’s been some brilliant parties!) so, when sharing the stories from our past, if we’ve missed anything out or you have your own memories to offer, be sure to add your comments to the series of articles that we’re about to start publishing here.

This site is an open forum for users to post content so, although we hope users will behave appropriately, we can’t take responsibility for what they post and we have to state that user content is not the view of Virgin.com or any Virgin company. If you object to any content, please let us know straight away at our contact us page. If you are posting content, please make sure you comply with our terms and conditions to avoid causing offence or harm to other users or to Virgin. Please also read our community guidelines. Thanks!

Google seeks Apple’s Approval

Posted by on Jul 11, 2011 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Yes that true Google is waiting for Apple’s approval for Google Application on ipad and iphone. For Google to success along with facebook and twitter, it is very important that it should reach maximum number of mobile devices. But getting space on mobile phone devices depends upon different types of platforms which various mobile platforms offer such as Symbian, Android or Apple’s OS.

However, we all are aware of the fact that Apple has strict control over the applications running on their platform. But officially Google has not declared about their iPhone’s application.

Google’s Employee Erica Joy in her Google+ page said,” Soon Google+ official application may be approved by Apple’s corporation and all iPhones and iPads users can enjoy the application benefits.

According to Torchen Stauch, an executive officer of Apple’s corporation,” there will be some benefits if Google+ application gets approved by us. Firstly Apple store will get a lot of exposure and secondly push alert services will be beneficial for then as user will be engaged in accessing the application.

However there are some chances of rejection also, as earlier Skype also offered the same application for iPhone users but it was rejected by Apple. So it is clear that if giant like Skype can be rejected than why not Google? Now google is also waiting for approval and that’s the reason behind that google has not officially declared its launching with apple.

Not only apple rejected Skype but earlier it has also rejected two application of Google i.e. Latitude and Voice. Apple rejected it because these applications violated the rules and regulations of Apple store and services. After that, by the investigation of Federal Communication of US, Apple made some relaxation in their rules.

Google is trying best for their Google+ application. The perfect example of this is that its official application is already available for Android operating system and Google is waiting for others giants to approve it.

Rax lakhani; the social media consultant said, “ Even if Google+ application is rejected by Apple then also there are certain available options for them such as Web Application.”

There are several iPhone users who do not use Facebook or twitter official application but web services are always the option available.

Now let’s see, how much Google+ grow in mobile world. What do you think?

Motorola Clutch +i475 Features And Specifications

Posted by on Jul 11, 2011 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Personally, I look Motorola Clutch +i475 as a cute and compact QWERTY messenger phone which has push-to-talk capabilities. The good thing I noticed about Motorola Clutch +i475 was that it’s keyboard is roomy. The Motorola Clutch +i475 is a very different phone from the Clutch i465. It is 4.23 inches long by 2.31 inches wide by 0.64 inch thick. There are nice curved corners and good sloped sides which feels comfortable in the hand. Though, it is not as tough as its predecessor and it is also not certified against environmental hazards.

Motorola Clutch +i475 has a small 2-inch display and is slightly bigger than the i465. We haven’t found this handset smooth in terms of display and text messaging and we were also not pleased with it’s menu interface which flips through multiple pages.

Adding insult to injury, we are quite disappointed with it’s VGA camera. The camera can shoot in four resolutions, from 640 x 480 to 220 x 176, and the camera setting include 4x zoom, a self timer, a low light mode, brightness, and two shutter sounds. In the end, Motorola Clutch +i475 has an improved design has a same terrible features.

The Charms of the Samsung Intercept

Posted by on Jun 28, 2011 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

virgin-samsung-intercept

The Samsung Intercept is making the waves because of the way that it has been configured. It starts off with the wonderful QWERTY keyboard which makes the usage very easy for the client. The multimedia aspects of the Android phone are very impressive indeed. From the perspective of the Verizon suite, there is a lot that can be said for these gadgets as they start to dominate the market in their own way. The keyboard is absolutely brilliant for the people that like to text on a regular basis. It is wide enough to enter significant amounts of text and yet it does not feel like a bulky item for the user. That is an advantage that must not be ignored under any circumstances.

The Samsung Intercept features are focused on the utility for the users. They are also specifically configured in order to meet the stringent expectations of the public in this aspect. That gives the impetus to all the schemes that work for the program. The people that buy the phone might be from the new client list or they might be seasoned but the most important thing is that they continue to take in all the elements that make the product work. It is up to the users to ensure that the phone is used in the way that the manufacturers intended it to function. That will provide more utility to the owner of the phone.

Further exploration of the Samsung Intercept specs

For the Samsung Intercept price, the buyer gets all the benefits that might accrue form the Android 2.1 gadgets. There is a 3.2 touch screen. The threaded messaging is very useful for keeping track on all the movements that go with the conversations that are experienced on the gadget. The gadget comes with some multimedia features including the inbuilt music player. The 3.2 mp camera is suitable for professionals and amateurs alike. The preloaded applications are an added bonus for the early buyers. The buyer does not have to spend time and expense looking for applications that are compatible with the system because the provision is already adequate.

Samsung-Intercept-features-specs-price-review

The social media aspects of the gadget are really at the top end of the scale. Business documents can be easily reviewed depending on the perspectives that are used by the individual that is running the show. There is a 3.5 mm hands free stereo headset. This is complemented by the Premium Audio facility. A 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adds to the convenience of the people that are using the gadget at the time. The horizontal pouch allows easy carriage of the product.

The pricing structure for the Samsung Intercept is within the cheap range. The buyer can decide to either go for the contract or the outright sell. The prices will be different. The initial price for the outright sell will be high but the person will not have the financial obligations that would come with the contract. For some people this is the best way forward when they are dealing with this product.

The Motorola Flipout Might be cancelled by AT&T

Posted by on Jun 28, 2011 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

motorola-flipout-press

There is some worrying news that there might be a cancellation of this gadget that has been taken off the shelves. This is said to have happened even before the launch. Normally one would expect that this would be the last thing that the manufacturer wants at the time when the mobile phone market is taking off. However it seems that there are forces that are creating the buzz and selling the product in a different context. This represents more than a financial loss to the manufacturers. It will certainly affect the reputation of the company with the overall effect that there might be some consequences for the people that are going with the Motorola Flipout. As a marketing technique, this is one of the worst on the market.

The strange tale of the Motorola Flipout

The bizarre circumstances will leave commentators wondering what is happening.  Not to be outdone, some clever clogs have decided to put the Motorola Flipout on eBay. That is a set of circumstances that can be described as being most unusual if one was making the understatement of the year.  This completes a few weeks when it seems that the owners of this gadget have completely lost control over the message and the usage of the message. There is a growing concern that the product will be permanently damaged by the ludicrous rumors that are swirling around the internet. The costs of the damage will take a very long time to be fully felt. Meanwhile the brand will be expected to pick up the pieces from the fallout. It will be one of the things that are looked at from the different perspectives.

motorola-flipout-review-price-features-specs

The handsets that are being sold are going for about $400. This would certainly undercut the manufacturer price. It remains to be seen whether there will be a reaction about these Motorola Flipouts.  The pricing is a major risk for the Motorola Flipout. Even where the product is withdrawn from the market there will remain some question marks that need to be answered before the clients can every trust the product again. It is a situation that is precarious at best. There are all sorts of permutations that can go wrong with the deal and the users have to be prepared for all the repercussions that might arise from the deal. It will be some time before this is completely resolved.

The future of the Motorola Flipout is not yet certain. After the launch that never was, there are some that say that the product will never have the kind of good publicity that its predecessors enjoyed. However that is neither here nor there. A blip in the launch does not mean that the product will completely bomb on all the occasions that it is presented to the public. In fact these teething problems might act as the impetus to bring the phone to the top of the game. It is a small blip but there is still a lot of damage that can be done to the Motorola Flipout.

The New Nokia N8: Smartphone With Perfect Style and Features

Posted by on Jun 22, 2011 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

The Nokia N8 is now shrouded in mystery. The AT & T network is planning to bring this surprise to the general public. This is a ten million dollar development. The information is not coming in thick and fast. Therefore a lot of speculation about the Nokia N8 has been given the room to prosper within the contexts. The information was gathered through some fairly innocuous information within the competition leaflets. The rumor that is getting traction is that the Nokia N8 will be part of the new device provision available in the United States of America.  They apps are compatible with the earlier versions of the phone. Dealing with the compatibility issues of the Nokia N8

The Nokia N8 will have to deliver the kind of compatibility that can make it a formidable competitor within the market. The vagueness of the information means that the journalists are not entirely clear about the processes that are required to make the best out of the Nokia N8. Some of the points that will be of interest to the buyers include:

  1. The compatibility of the Nokia N8. This is for people that might have old versions of the applications and may want to include them in the new program. It will all depend on the ability to manage the different elements of the phone and to ensure that it can deliver services regardless of the version that is being used at the time. That is a great requirement for gadgets of this nature and it can be the deal breaker in terms of deciding whether the phone is suitable for the buyer.
  2. The price of the Nokia N8. The deals that are made should be competitive when compared to some of the other providers. At this point in time the clients are not happy to take deals that are not conducive. They wish to have items that can give them control and flexibility over the product. It is also the first point in all the other elements of the product.
  3. The specifications that come with the Nokia N8. This is not just an interest for the geeks and fanatics. It is all about the specifications and how they can help the user to enjoy the best utility from the phone. In due course that might change the outcomes for the users. The details are coming in slowly but at the end of the day they will have a great impact when tested.
  4. The possibilities for better versions in the future. This is all about the future look. The functionality of the Nokia N8 will also be part of the process. The development work will be tested against the market and the way that the customers perceive the efforts that have been made to improve the outcomes on the phone. The customers are demanding the best from the phone and at the moment their expectations are being met.

Posted by on Jun 22, 2011 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Nokia is very aware of its plummeting smartphone market share, but the only thing it can do at this point — after abandoning Symbian and MeeGo and switching to Windows Phone 7 as its main smartphone platform — is try to speed up its roadmap.

Originally, the first Windows Phone 7 devices manufactured by Nokia were slated to hit the market in 2012, but now Nokia has pushed the pace a bit.

Speaking at the 2011 Mobile Telecompaper conference, Vice President of Nokia Europe Victor Saeijs said that the first Nokia WP7 devices will hit the market in 2011 — and he even said he had one in his pocket, but he chose not to share it with the audience as it was an early pre-production prototype.

Nokia plans to launch the first Windows Phone 7 devices in six European countries: The Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. Interestingly, Finland — the country Nokia is based in — is absent from the list.
