If it exists, you’ll find it on SEEK

SEEK is Australia’s number one job site with over 140,000 jobs online and visited 13 million times* each month.

SEEK has made it even easier to navigate the advertising and search process by creating areas to meet job type and country specific needs. SEEK Volunteer brings volunteers and not-for profit organisations together free of charge.  SEEK NZ and SEEK UK deliver the benefits of the home-grown version for locals or visitors looking for jobs in those regions.

As Australia’s leading employment website, SEEK has unique insights into local labour markets and regularly conducts research into employment trends and jobseeker sentiment including The SEEK Employment Index and The SEEK Survey of Employee Satisfaction and Motivation.

More than just a job

SEEK has two non-employment businesses.  SEEK Commercial allows ‘biz seekers’ to browse for business and franchises for sale. And SEEK Learning assists jobseekers with career development by providing vocational education through partnerships with leading training providers, such as TAFE institutions and major universities.

Founded in Melbourne in 1997, SEEK is Australian owned and operated and employs around 400 people. In 2007, SEEK was recognised as one of the 20 best employers to work for in Asia**.

Problem at work

What to do to sort it out

If you’ve got a problem at work, it’s best to sort it out early by talking to your employer. However, some problems are more complicated and you may have to complain in writing. If this doesn’t sort things out, you may need to consider taking your case further.

What can I do about a problem at work?

If you’re unhappy about something at work, try talking to your employer before things get out of hand. You may need to explain your problem in writing if you can’t sort it out informally.

If you’re facing disciplinary action or the threat of losing your job, your employer should act fairly and follow the correct legal guidelines. This should include a chance for you to defend yourself in a meeting and to appeal against any decision you don’t agree with. It’s a good idea to do this in writing.

It’s often useful to get advice before you approach your employer so you know where you stand. There are organisations who can give you free support and help.

Sometimes it’s not possible to sort things out directly with your employer and you may need to take your case to an employment tribunal. You’ll usually have to do this within three months from the last time the event you’re complaining about happened. You’ll need to complete a form and it’s often a good idea to get help with this.

Avjobs

AV jobs works in partnership with Audio Visual  companies across the world to recruit professional Audio Visual, Video Conferencing and Unified Communications staff across EMEA.

We are able to provide quality staff at all levels and in all disciplines – whether you a vendor, distributor, reseller or integrated systems company. Our clients include market leading manufacturers – NEC, Samsung, Sony, Avermedia, distributors – C2000 Maverick, Steljes, Sahara, AV/VC, IT resellers – Accurate,  Martin Dawes,  CEDEC, Integrators -AVM, Savilles, SCC, Custom Installers – Platinum Vision, Retailers – Bang & Olufsen to name but a few.

We work with you to understand the culture and values of your organisation as well as the skills and experiences you seek from candidates. We will not fill your in-box with CVs –

Our job is to

  • Search our networks and databases
  • Select suitable candidates
  • Interview our shortlist
  • Present you with candidates who we believe are right for you

We also advertise job roles on our web sites, our own specialist jobs board – www.lavajobs.co.uk, social media, niche technology jobs boards and popular generic jobs boards.  We also advertise in AV News and VC News website as part of our association with these publications through www.lavajobs.co.uk. We subscribe to a number of jobs boards and continually search for new ones which we believe will offer the level of candidates our clients need.

We have access to over 30000 candidates to select from and we send a targeted mail shot to over 3000 candidates each week.

Once we have found candidates that look suitable on paper, we perform in-depth telephone interviews (or face to face if required) to understand each candidates’ education, professional history, their skills and experience, their personality (with a view to cultural fit), their career aspirations and their level of motivation to get a new role, as well as their level of interest in your opportunity.

The last two factors are vitally important and often missed when recruiting. A candidate who has the skills and experience that you are looking for is only useful if they are also motivated to move and interested in your opportunity. Our getting this part of the process right will save you a lot of time, preventing you wasting time on people who are not really looking for a new position, or are only looking for job offers to gain leverage with their current employers (to secure a pay rise or other benefits).

All of our services are confidential and we are also able to headhunt candidates  from your competitors and other industries where appropriate.

We also offer Psychometric Testing, Behavioural Profiling, Job Profiling, Aptitude Testing, General Intelligence Assessment and Emotional Intelligence Testing – please call us for more information on your specific requirements.

We have skilled Sales Trainers who are able to offer bespoke courses for your specific needs and we are able to provide excellent testimonials from client customers and candidates who have attended our courses. These are usually held on your own premises and vary between 1-5 days dependent upon your exact requirements.

Call Pat or David to discuss our services in detail and how we can help you in the recruiting process or for further details of any of our services.
